The World’s Tallest Monolith, Peña de Bernal
The most popular and well-known monolith in Mexico is the 1,700 foot tall Peña de Bernal. This monolith is an extruded plug produced by an extinct volcano in the more northern state of San Luis Potosi. The monolith is located 45 minutes east of Queretaro City in the colonial town of San Sabastian de Bernal.
Peña de Bernal has over a hundred sport and traditional routes from single to multi-pitch.

El Potrero Chico is located just outside of the town of Hidalgo, in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. It is a world-renowned destination offering big wall sport rock climbing with multi-pitch routes ranging from 5.10 to 5.13 with the tallest being 23 pitches.
Several campgrounds and lodges offer accommodations for rock climbers of any budget. Each facility has affordable camping and rooms and entire houses available. For the climbers staying in tents there are community kitchens to cook food. With endless routes of many different grades and lengths El Potrero Chico is a haven for rock climbers.
Las Ventanas, El Chico National Park
El Chico National Park in the state of Hidalgo houses Las Ventanas, a highly recommended location for beginners and intermediates. Moreover most areas are a convenient walk from the car, with clearly marked paths for visiting climbers.
Furthermore, with routes 30 meters to longer multi-pitch the area offers lots of variety to visiting climbers. The quaint town of Mineral del Chico offers great views, beautiful architecture, comfortable accommodations and restaurants to find food after climbing. Furthermore, you can camp in the park or visit the town close to it called El Chico for your night's rest.

Experienced and beginner rock climbers love Mineral del Chico, a small town surrounded by a big bouldering zone. Moreover, it offers a beautiful backdrop with lush greenery for the forest and bouldering levels from V1 to V14.
Additionally, the local townspeople sell most of the resources you will need for your hike or camping, including necessary information if you need anything out of the ordinary.
