Luis 'Mac' Carlos García Ayala

ROCK CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR, SINGLE PITCH AND MULTI-PITCH ROCK GUIDE

Carlos started climbing at the age of twenty one with his friends/mentors Rafael Guadarrama, and Carlos Cano. These two gentlemen seeing his natural ability to hang on remarked that his climbing was as skilled as a Macaque monkey earning himself the nickname “Mac”.

Carlos has put up routes (FA's) on almost every continent. Here is but a brief list of his climbing accomplishments.

In the Blue Mountains of Australia he developed 'La Zanahoria' at 205mtrs. and 'Mexican Way' at 235mtrs.

In Pakistan on the Trango Glacier Mac put up “La Reina Roja” at 993mtrs

In Africa within the Taghia Gorge 'Jbell Taguijjimt N´Tsoiannt' at 885mtrs

In Andalsnes, Norway 'Mongejura' at 1,200mtrs

In Peru 'La Esfinge' at 750m and 'Yanawaka' at 775mtrs

and in his home country of Mexico Mac developed 'El Gigante'  at 885mtrs and Piedra Bolada at 885mtrs in the Basaseachic mountains of Chihuahua. 

Mac has guided clients in Australia, Africa, United States, Spain, Peru, Pakistan, and of course Mexico. Whether it be Traditional climbing, single pitch Sport cragging, Big Walls ascents, Alpine routes, or full Mountaineering Trips to Iztaccihuatl or Xinantecatl.
